This research was conducted to develop and to perform therapeutic recreation for
children in multi-cultural families, which are leisure education of various areas, and to
investigate how these programs improve acculturation formation of the children. In order
to study the above, this research developed and performed a therapeutic recreation
program on 49 children from multi-cultural families. Data has been collected through
quantitative and qualitative research methods such as acculturation test survey and depth
interview. For data processing, quantitative research was tested for the statistical
significance by paired t-test with SPSS 18.0 and statistical significance level was set at
p=.01. For qualitative research, inductive category analysis was utilized. Through these
processes, the following conclusions were drawn. therapeutic recreation programs give a
positive impact on acculturation improvement of the children from multi-cultural families.
