The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediation effect of leisure satisfaction on the relationship between serious leisure and perceived quality of life. In order to conduct this study, first, authors set the research model among serious leisure, leisure satisfaction, and the quality of life through reviewing the literature. To examine the research model, a total of 513 respondents over 20 years old participated in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis, reliability
analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation method were utilized using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 7.0 program. Before examining the research model, the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were tested. One of the life-quality factors was excluded by correlation analysis and confirmatory factor analysis and the research model was modified without one factor of the quality of life. The results of the final research model examination indicated that serious leisure
had the direct and indirect positive effects on the quality of life, and leisure satisfaction had a partial(complementary) mediation effect on the relationship between serious leisure and the quality of life. Therefore, the current study depicted that participation in serious leisure was an important factor to increase the perceived quality of life through the mediation effect of leisure satisfaction.
